Living Well Through Advent
A Devotional and Study from Living Compass
The season of Advent, along with the thoughtful writings and reflection questions in this devotional, provides us with the opportunity to slow down so we can make counter-cultural choices—choices that will help prepare us for the true meaning of Christmas.
This Advent small group study will meet weekly for three weeks on Monday evenings or Wednesday mornings (two separate sessions) to discuss the week’s daily readings and reflections.
This 54-page devotional with daily reflections and questions, used by tens of thousands across denominations to prepare for Christmas. Ideal for individual use, congregational programs, classes, small groups, and retreats. It includes reflections from: Wendy Claire Barrie, Robbin Brent, Amy Cook, Randall Curtis, Shannon Kelly, Scott Stoner
In addition to expanding on each writer's Sunday reflection throughout the week, each Monday we introduce a weekly theme related to practicing generosity. The theme for week one is grounding our generosity in God's generosity; week two is cultivating gratitude as the foundation of generosity; week three is expanding our vision of hospitality; and week four focuses on love as the foundation of generous living.
As important as the daily readings are, the personal reflections and insights that emerge in response to the readings are what matters most. Record them, either in the spaces provided, or in a separate journal. When possible, talk with others or join a group where you can share and discuss your thoughts.
